QUESTIONS
questions worth asking
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Therapy addresses mental health, trauma, and clinical concerns. Coaching is focused on where you are now, where you want to go, and what is standing in the way. I am not a therapist, and coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment. Coaching and therapy can be done at the same time and many clients do both.
Do I have to be in Jacksonville, NC to work with you?
No. All coaching programs are available virtually via video call. I work with clients across the United States and internationally.
What if I cannot afford the full package upfront?
Payment plans are available for both programs. Reach out through the contact page and we will find something that works.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 60 to 90 minutes. The discovery session at the start of each program is also 30 to 60 minutes.
What if I need to reschedule a session?
Life happens. I ask for 24 hours notice when possible. Consistent cancellations are something we will address directly, because they are often information about the work itself.
Can I work with you if my primary concern is my relationship?
Yes. Relationship patterns are one of the core areas of this work. Both partners can participate if that is something you want to explore, but individual coaching on relationship dynamics is equally effective and more common. Couples coaching is also available.
What makes your approach different?
I bring nearly two decades of pattern recognition developed through an unusual combination of behavioral science and direct human coaching experience. I do not work from a script. Every program is built around the specific person in front of me. I also bring a level of accountability that is direct rather than gentle. I will name what you are avoiding. That is not comfortable. It is why clients see real results.
Do you work with business owners?
Yes. Business coaching is available as a standalone service or as part of a personal coaching program. Most business problems I work with have a significant personal component underneath them.
I read The Dog Mirror. Is your coaching related to the book?
The book and the coaching come from the same place: the understanding that the patterns driving our behavior show up in every area of life. You do not need to have read the book to work with me. But if you found yourself in those pages, you are likely exactly the kind of person this coaching is built for. I am working on my next book now, specifically for you!
Is this coaching right for me?
This coaching is right for you if you are tired of knowing what you should do and not doing it, if you have been in the same patterns long enough that you have stopped expecting them to change, or if you want to feel like yourself again, or for the first time. It is not right for you if you are looking for validation without challenge or support without accountability.
